Saturday my family and I are going to Hershey Park. We were given tickets to go and have fun as a family for our last fling before fall really sets in. My 3 boys yesterday were excitedly talking about the rides and all the fun they will be having on Saturday. Then they brought up the question "Which candy will they be at the Park this year?" Hershey measures your height by candy. It's a great visual for kids so they can recognize right away if they are tall enough for that ride.
Well, we started to name candy we liked and thought we might be. Then I realized I don't think Hershey makes that kind of candy. The more the kids and I talked I figured out we are totally Hershey illiterate. What does Hershey make besides Chocolate and Reese's Pieces and Peanut Butter Cups? Our list was totally off. We named M&M's, Skittles, Snickers, Twix, Milky Way Bars and 3 Musketeers. I believe they are all Mars products. So help me out and name some Hershey products so we don't all look like fools this weekend while visiting our States Chocolate Capital.

Twizzlers, Reeses and Kisses are the 3 heights that I can think of. I hope you guys have a blast!
Jolly Ranchers, York Peppermint Patties (YUM!!) and Kit Kats. They also have the odd, obscure things like Fast Breaks and Take Five.
I think all your guys will be at least Hershey Bars (that's what #3 is) so they can ride most of the coasters. The next height category is Twizzler (I think) and that gets them on the rest of the coasters, especially the newer ones. Make sure you all have bathing suits if you even want to get your toes wet in the water park! They are very strict about that.
Lastly, if the lines are long head over to The Super Dooper Looper or Lightning Racer. Usually there is a 5 minutes wait or less even if the park is crowded.
And, make sure you get Brickers french fries or fried veggies (in the Midway near the the whip and Lightning Racer).
That is all I can think of for now!
Here's a link to the ride height requirements and what candy they are.
And here are links to the chocolate and sugar candies made by Hershey's.
Hope you guys have a wonderful day!
My little guy has been a Reese's for the last two years and can't wait to be a Hershey Bar so he can go on more than 3 roller coasters! I think he might have grown already - we will have to see when we go for Hersheypark in the Dark next month.
We're going too! Actually, me and the kids are going - we got four free tickets and Jay is camping this weekend with his college buddies. I was on their site last night trying to decide what we can all get on. I'm horrendously outnumbered to get on most rides - so I told each of the kids to lower their expectations of what they'll get to ride. Most rides want an "experienced rider" along with my middle child - I don't suppose her seven year old brother qualifies as an "experienced rider", eh?
