Girl Drama

Okay...if you have boys you may want to just move on and disregard this post.....except that you're probably a mom, which makes you a girl and in that case, you know what I'm talking about.

Girl Drama.

Even Mommies play "Girl Drama". And, we can dish it as well as we can take it!

Two out of my three daughters are experiencing some healthy doses of girl drama this year. And, I (being a girl), can get swept away into their offenses and hurt feelings. I actually gave #3 advice "if that girl pushes you on the soccer field, you push her back with your shoulders, not your hands.....

So, you don't get caught.
"

Did I just type that confession for all the Internet world to see?

I've also fantasized in my head of telling off a certain girl that has been so downright mean to #1 since she entered middle school LAST year. #1 has been punched hard in the arm several times by the girl (who is also on her soccer team), been pushed down the stairs at school by her and been the recipient of more trash talk then I have time to write in this post. I have my "you ought to be ashamed of yourself speech" all prepared for that little stinker.

And, then the other morning, as I was meditating on all things that are (not) good, and (not) praiseworthy, and (not) excellent, God asked me if I would consider thinking of these "girl bullies" in light of eternity. Would I be willing to love them? Forgive them? If given the opportunity, would I rise above the circumstances and see them through God's eyes? Will I stop teaching my daughters to "ignore" and stay away from girls like this...although, I don't think my own kids need to be walked all over either.....so, I'm trying to find the "balance". Trust me, times have changed and telling a bully to just knock it off is like throwing lighter fluid on a bonfire. But, these girls do need someone to pray for them. So, we've been starting there and seeing some progress. Praise the Lord!

Now, I'm going to focus my prayers on getting rid of the PTO-Mommy-Drama!

Even with boys I can relate. I feel your pain. I will be praying for you guys. We have boy drama just not as dramatic more testosterone filled.

Our drama is of the "everybody hates me and thinks I'm stupid" variety, accompanied by rushing up the stairs and throwing himself on the bed.

I sometimes wonder if I have a teenage daughter instead of a six year old son!
