I'd Like to Thank the Academy

Tracy over at The Gang's All Here bestowed on me today a coveted award for "Funniest Real Life Experience" for this post. Apparently, all you have to do to receive the award is make people snort coffee out their nose while they're reading your post. I like how Tracy always challenges me to reach for my full potential. I left my acceptance speech in her comments, but I thought I'd share it here as well since so many of you have molded and shaped me for this very special moment.

Thank you for this very prestigious award. First, I'd like to thank God for giving me a son who has no regard for rules or order or seat belts.

I'd also like to thank the academy for recognizing that it's hard work to not have any control over your children when TV cameras are rolling.

Of course, I have to thank Tracy for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to share my parenting struggles in front of my fellow shoppers and neighbors.

And, finally, I'd like to thank Say Anything for wrestling a 2-year-old to the ground rather than letting him mess up my 31 seconds of fame.

Thank you. And God bless.

I always knew the sacrifice and hard work of those four years of college would lead me to greatness!
