Today starts my series of 100 things to do in Central Pennsylvania. If you don't live in this area, you'll still get ideas that can transfer to your own part of the world. But I'm hoping to spark our imaginations and to remind us of the great amount of resources right under our noses that can help us create a memorable summer vacation.
My first suggestion is a classic that still provides great fun for the entire family: bowling. Today's bowling alleys are high tech with their automated scoring and disco light shows, but they provide no less fun for kids of all ages. This is perfect fun for those rainy days or days when you need to escape the heat.
I highly recommend ABC East Lanes in Harrisburg for one simple fact: they are smoke-free. This brand new facility has the latest in bowling technology, and all without the lingering cloud of smoke that is present in most bowling alleys.

Monday thru Thursday 8am-5pm $3.25 per game, 5pm - 2am $3.95 per game
Friday 8am - 5pm $3.25 per game, 5pm - 10:30pm $4.15 per game
Monday - Friday Special (8am - 5pm)- bowl 3 games (each person) for $8.50
Saturday 8am - 11am $3.25 per game, 11am - 9pm $4.15 per game
Sunday 8am - 11am $1.75 per game, 11am - 2am $4.15 per game
Kids Club
Kids 14 and younger can join their Kids' Club and receive a free game of bowling each month!
Birthday Parties
Treat your birthday child to a bowling birthday party and receive: 2 hour party, choice of hot or pizza slice, kids drink, bowling shoes, automatic bumpers, 4 games room tokens per child, bowling pin for birthday child...all for $12.00 per child.
