They've been waiting 17 years for their big moment

Dust off your ear muffs. Go buy some new ear plugs. Plan a vacation for early summer.

I read in the paper this morning that the cicadas are going to be back this summer. They will emerge in late May or early June when the soil temperatures reaches 64.84 degrees. The males are the ones who do all the singing in an effort to woo the females. They'll be around for 4-5 weeks.

If you want to learn more about cicadas, you can visit Cicada Mania on the web.

I visited the link, and ended up on a page about pets and people eating cicadas.

So I tied it back in with The Campbell Corner's post on eating strange foods.

How many bugs have you eaten today? Scroll down to Discussion #3 on this page to find out.
