It looks like the toy industry is going to take a big hit this Christmas after the mass recalls this year. Two more stories surfaced here and here yesterday.
So, it begs the question. Are you buying toys for your kids this Christmas? And, if not, what are you buying?

Hmmmm.....now we know why it's so cheap to make things in China.....
Doesn't anyone check into these things pre-production??! Duh.
I'm still buying toys and I'll just pray for God's protection over my kids as they play!
I'm going to buy board games and clothes.
BTW, Little Tikes has a link on their website of all the toys that they sell that are made in the USA. I don't know if any of the other manufacturers are proving that service or not.
we are considering getting the kids, one present this year. A kitten.
That date-rape drug-laced toy thing is much scarier to me than the lead paint! Yikes!
I haven't decided what I'm buying them yet. We don't usually do the gotta-have-it popular toys... we just get them a few things that we think they would really like, are usually somehow educational or imaginative. Since we don't have cable, our kids only watch PBS, so they don't see all the commercials for the new toys.
Maybe we'll give them gold, frankincense and myrrh. (representations thereof... I'd reference the idea if I could remember it came from! I believe it was from an MIA speaker?)
