Feel Your Boobies

Yep, you read that right. Feel your boobies. Every month, you need to feel your boobies to make sure you have no lumps that could be a sign of breast cancer.

I wish I could take credit for encouraging people to "feel their boobies" but I can't. Leigh Hurst started Feel Your Boobies after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33. An avid runner and health nut, she had none of the normal risk factors. But her cancer was nearly 95% treatable because of the early detection. She now works to spread the word about feeling your boobies, especially among the younger population.

"Right now, mammograms are targeted only for the 40 and over population. For women under 40, feeling your boobies is one of the ways to ensure early detection. Somehow telling young women the importance of "self-breast exams"
doesn't quite have the same punch as saying "feel your boobies." So you might laugh at the slogan, but hopefully you'll take it seriously and do it, says Leigh."

Come on, go on over to Leigh's Web site and learn more about how to do a proper breast exam. Do your own exam, then come back here and leave a comment letting me know you felt your boobies. Let's see how many self-exams we can log this month!
